Encampment Patch Design Contest Submissions Due - March 12, 2018
All submissions for the Encampment Patch Design Contest are due March 12. Girls should choose from ONE of the templates (circle or square) and submit a full color design. Only one design allowed per scout. Submissions can be e-mailed to email@example.com or dropped off at 9014 Ridgely Dr, Lorton in the porch drop box. The submission form can be found here.
Gold Award Scholarship Deadline - March 15, 2018
High school seniors who have earned their Gold Award are eligible to apply for a $1,000 educational scholarship awarded by GSCNC. A selection committee comprised of local businesswomen review all written applications and identify finalists to be interviewed in-person at the Washington, DC Council office. Based on the interviews, committee members select the finalists. Finalists who are not selected receive a $150 Visa Gift Card. The application deadline is March 15. All girls selected as finalists must be able to interview at the DC Council Office on April 26, 2018. Code Friendship (Troop 338 Bronze Award Project) - March 16, 2018
Girl Scout Troop 338 is organizing a night of friendship for Brownies as part of their Bronze Award Project. Brownies (and their friends) are invited to learn the importance of being open to making new friends through playing "get to know you" games, making friendship bracelets, and sharing a snack. All participants will earn a patch at the end. Space is limited to the first 32 girls to RSVP. The event will be held 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Silverbrook Elementary School Cafeteria. Woodworking Event @ Board & Brush Fairfax - March 18, 2018
Girls (10+) and adults can spend a morning learning how to mark your own custom wood sign at Board & Brush Fairfax (11215 Lee Hwy, Ste J, Fairfax). This event is being held on March 18 from 10am to 12pm. Cost is $35 per scout and $65 per adult. Registration and payment is due by March 16. See the attached flyer for full information.
Crosspointe Community Easter Egg Hunt - March 24, 2018
Our SU runs this event for children in the Crosspointe community. Kids can hunt for hidden eggs and meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny. USA Science & Engineering Festival - April 6-8, 2018
The nation's largest celebration of science, technology, engineering & mathematics. Find out where "STEM Can Take You" at this 5th annual expo. Cosmic Bowling - April 14, 2018
Come bowl with your troop at the Ft. Belvoir Bowling Center. Child-friendly dinner, patch, shoe rental, & 1 ½ hours of bowling included. GSCNC Annual Meeting - April 21, 2018

Encampment 2018 (Into the Woods) - April 27-29, 2018
Come camp with SU 52-08 at Camp Highroad in Middleburg, VA. Troops have the option of camping 2 nights, 1 night, or Day Only. Prices range from $49-$79 for scouts and $26-$56 for adult volunteers. All girls will receive 4 hours of instructor-led programming and will have the option of participating in various other SU activities like geocaching, rock painting, SWAPs, campfire, etc. Open to all scout levels. Maker Day - May 19, 2018
Join GSCNC for an afternoon of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & mathematics) at the NOVA - Annandale Campus (Ernst Community Cultural Center, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003) from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on May 19. Participation is free to all Girl Scouts and their friends and family. You can also exhibit something you have made! Association 52 Precious Medals Ceremony - May 24, 2018
Join us as we honor girls who have earned their Gold, Silver, Silver Trefoil, and Bronze Awards from May 2017 to April 2018. This year, SU 52-08 is hosting the event, which will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 6:30pm at Christ Church on Ox Rd in Fairfax Station. More information is available here.
