GSCNC Silver Trefoil Award and Community Service Hours
As soon as a girl bridges to Cadettes, she can start banking her service hours for Silver Trefoil Award, if they aren’t hours being used for her Journey Take Action Project or her Silver/Gold Awards. They can use up to 50 hours that they earn as a Cadette toward Silver Trefoil Award. The GSCNC Silver
Trefoil Award is pretty well known by universities and colleges in states with girls from our Girl Scout Council as the highest service award for Girl Scouts
in our area, but girls can always list it on their college application as “Girl Scout Silver Trefoil Award for 100 hours of Service to Girl Scouts & Government”. After girls earn this award, they are invited to the Girl Scout Council’s annual “In Your Honor” ceremony at Trinity University in May to be honored with Gold Award earners! So Council makes a big deal over the service given by these girls, which is nice as Gold Award projects aren’t for everyone!
This document will explain the Silver Trefoil Award and provide examples of service projects that can be credited towards earning this award.
This spreadsheet will help you track their service hours.
